Paul Vs. Diaz scheduled for August 5th in Texas
Conor McGregor has given his prediction for the upcoming boxing match between ‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul, and Stockton’s ‘Nate Diaz’.
Inside Fighting managed to catch a few words with the ‘Notorious’ last night following his attendance as the Gervonta Davis Vs. Ryan Garcia’s bout, which the former won by a body shot in the seventh round. Garcia seemed to be OK at first before the delayed pain set in, resulting in him taking a knee and being unable to recover.
Mcgregor told Inside Fighting that he thinks Nate Diaz ‘slaps the head off of him (Paul) and that ‘he looks forward to seeing it‘.
When Mcgregor was asked if he would be attending the event in Dallas, he was doubtful, saying he would be on his Lamborghini (yacht) off the coast of Sicily.
The ‘Notorious’ has recently wrapped up filming the latest series of The Ultimate Fighter, where he coached alongside Michael Chandler. Season 30 will air on ESPN on May 30th.
Following the conclusion of the series, McGregor and Chandler will fight at 170 pounds. A date for the fight has yet to be agreed due to McGregor having to iron out some issues relating to USADA / being in their drug testing programme. McGregor is believed to require six months’ worth of testing before he is allowed to compete in a sanctioned bout. His tweet from April 6th alludes to the fact he is back in the testing programme, but exactly when he re-entered the programme is not known to the public. Going by his social media timeline, we could expect him back in action in October this year.
The build-up to the much-anticipated bout should be entertaining. The two were seemingly on good terms before filming began, but as the series developed, so did the animosity between them.
